Yeah, it is difficult sometimes. One time I was at the marina with Shadow and Riley and this little boy came up and wanted to pet them, and I told him that he could pet the one with the brown face, Riley, but Shadow didn't like kids. Well, he kept going towards Shadow and chasing him trying to pet him and he was trying to get away from him with this tail tucked between his legs and he kept chasing him and Shadow kept running to me and I kept saying, "Pet Riley. Riley wants to be pet." and the little boy kept saying "But I want Shadow. I like chasing Shadow." Poor Shadow, he was traumatized, and poor Riley just wanted to be pet. That little boy really annoyed me. I like when I'm walking Riley because I know that any person or dog can approach us and it won't be a problem, but when I walk Shadow I'm just hoping that there are no kids anywhere around and if they are that they will just leave him alone. With Riley, one time a baby armadillo actually approached us. It was the cutest thing! It was so tiny, and it came right up to us and Riley just sniffed it. And about the spay/neuter program--yeah they really need that. My pet friendly license plates on my car, the proceeds go to a low cost spay and neuter program for Texas, a mobile unit that travels to low income areas to help spay and neuter their pets. Granbury doesn't have any vets that offer it low cost, but there is a vet in Cleburne that does, and that's not to terribly far away.

I probably told you about this a long time ago, but Getta, at our no kill shelter goes to the "kill shelter" and picks out which dogs to bring to the good shelter. That would be soooo hard, I don't know how she does it. She is definitely saving some lives, but I would agonize over the ones I don't pick. Debbie, the other lady who runs the shelter won't go anywhere near that place. The kill shelter is actually have more adoption events I keep reading about in the paper, so hopefully they are getting better. I haven't talked to Getta in ages, so I no longer no the inside scoop about whats going on in either place. I remember this one little boy walking up and hugging Diego as I was walking him. I was kind of cringing, because I wasn't positive about how he would react, but he was a good boy. Shadow is the one who doesn't like kids, at all. And for some reason children are always drawn to him when they see him. I try to avoid kids when I'm out with Shadow, but his littermate, Riley is friendly to everyone. And when I have them both, and little boys (mostly) approach me, I tell them they can pet Riley because he is very friendly but Shadow is scared, and they always go for Shadow anyway, and it traumatizes him. I don't blame him, little kids can be so annoying sometimes--tee hee. Riley just wants to smile and be pet and Shadow wants to be left alone when strangers approach.

Yes, I agree, the little dogs are always the ones with the bad attitude. I love all dogs, but I definitely prefer larger dogs. But, I do take care of some really sweet small dogs too. But with the big dogs, I just love to throw both arms around them and hug them! I've never known a snippy large dog, only small ones. I'm sure there are some, but I've just never met any. Yes, and I know what you mean about wanting to take every dog home. I could not go to a shelter where they put dogs to sleep that don't get homes, because it would bother me just too much, and I would dwell on it, like you said.

hee hee--I know exactly what episode of SURS you are talking about. I've remember that one.

True, bless them all! Dogs are worth their weight in gold in my opinion, even though sometimes they are capable of driving you crazy! I love all animals, except scorpions, but I do have this one cat that I've been taking care of all week that all she does is hiss at me when she sees me. All my stops, I'm greeted with wagging tails and happy faces, and there I'm greeted with a hiss. I am taking care of a super sweet cat too though. I'd say 98% of the cats I take care of are sweet--well, make that lower because there's a couple who hide under the bed and I never see them. Then there's Tuffy. Hmmm, make that 90%, 85% maybe. Dogs--99.9% of the dogs I take care of are sweet. One, a Maltese named Zoe isn't. But she's not even sweet to 2 out of her 4 human family members. She only likes the mom (sometimes) and the younger daughter. Hates the older daughter and the husband.

Yeah, I like the show in my head better than the one they created---hee hee. If they scrambled his voice it would have to work out where you could still catch the sarcasm in his voice, because that's half the fun of listening to him. I don't know if they have that kind of technology yet. And back to dogs--they really help your ego don't they? You feel soooooo loved when they are so glad to see you when you get home and the fact that they want to be with you all the time. Then if your ego gets too big and you start feeling too important, that's the time to get a cat. : ) That's cute about your dog herding the other ones. I just love all the different personalities of the dogs I see all the time.

Well, I watched that Fuse dating show Monday and it was very disappointing. Not at all what I expected. No Bert McCracken, or anybody for that matter, just the same kind of people you always see on the typical reality dating show. I was lead to believe, when they said "musicians" it would be like, you know, people we'd see on Fuse. But, well one of the girls sang karoke or whatever, one played the classical flute, and one rapped. So, not what I expected. I liked the idea of Bert McCracken or somebody from some other band. What would be funny--is say there were 3 people--you know--like example Bert, Gerard (just as an example, I know he wouldn't do it even if he weren't married, and, I don't know--Jared Leto. And you talk to them, but you don't know who you are talking to, you don't see them, and then you choose just from talking to them. Most big fans are very familiar with voices though, and Gerard has a very distinctive voice. I'm sure you'd know Bert's voice if you didn't see him. But how cool would that be? Say, more realistically, a guy from Madina Lake, maybe--I don't know someone from The Academy Is (haa haa) and someone from Forever The Sickest Kids. Oh well, I don't have to waste my time watching the show, because its not interesting as it is.

Yeah, it was really cute. At one point I started swimming aways off and Shadow jumped out of the boat and starting swimming towards me. He's so protective of me, I think its so sweet. One time, before they built the house across the street, we used to walk across the street and swim to this little, well we called it an "island" but it was actually just a sand bar that came up when the lake started getting low. Anyway, I would swim to that, and Shadow would swim circles around me the whole time. That must have been exhausting, because I was swimming forward, but he was just swimming around and around me the whole time, working twice as hard. I guess he thought he was protecting me or something, or "herding" me since he's got some border collie in him. Nicole came home from the beach yesterday, and Shadow cuddled up next to her on the couch. It was sweet. They are like brother and sister--she gets aggravated at him and he growls at her sometime, but they really love each other.
